RANDY LORAN

Lead Vocals

RANDY, like most trained vocalists, has been performing since childhood. His early years consisted of multiple choirs, vocal ensembles, theater work and competitions. He graduated to fronting rock bands at the tender age of 16 and has continued to do so in multiple forms for over 20 years. An experienced studio and live performer RANDY chose to develop his vocal chops even further at the Seattle based vocal program “The Vocalist Studio” in 2008 with coach Robert Lunte. During that process RANDY chose to not only expand his own knowledge and craft but, also to help others learn to do so as well. RANDY recently began working as a vocal coach in his own right and thoroughly enjoys the process of helping clients find and develop their skills as vocalists.

IRENE PEÑA

Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar

Southern California raised and born in to a musically-rooted family, IRENE formed her love for all styles of music at an early age.  Her first music lesson (at the age of 4) was in classical piano – taught by her mother.  The instinctual pull was to play all her pop radio faves by ear, and sing primarily the harmonies (or write new ones).  Several church and school choirs later, she was given her brother’s hand-me-down acoustic guitar.  The tone was set, and her rhythm guitar path was laid out before her.  Her first band in high school set her as front-woman and primary song-writer of a 4-piece outfit where she also managed to sneak in cover tunes by an eclectic span of artists (Fleetwood Mac, Styx, R. E. M., Heart, INXS, The Clash, The Monkees, Kenny Loggins, The Cure, The Smithereens, Crowded House).  Later, she found herself as rhythm-and-vocals-for-hire in-studio, on stage, and eventually touring with the power-pop band PinkSlip.

Uprooting from her hometown to the Pacific Northwest, she newly balanced her songwriting and originals projects with being band-leader for a mainstream party band “they go pop!” catering to private parties and corporate events.  IRENE’S also made a home in the singer-songwriter space, hosting a monthly showcase for local and touring artists.  She was named “2017 Artist of the Year” by Pop Garden Radio and reviewed by Goldmine Magazine in 2018 for her latest EP “Trying Not To Smile”:  “Pena provides the perfect anecdote for today’s sobering times, a reminder that music can lift us out of our doldrums and yes, put a smile on our face when needed.”

DAN TEAGUE

Lead Guitar

Thankfully, DAN could be found on Facebook in 2010 posting face-melting electric guitar solos.  Note-for-note covers of Metallica’s “One”, “Welcome Home”, and “Am I Evil” to name a few.  He became the lead guitarist for “they go pop!” in 2013, and donned his acoustic cutaway at Seattle’s Hard Rock Café, featuring a notable performance of the full version of The Knack’s “My Sharona” (in the middle of a 2-hour acoustic set.)

He quickly became an in-demand guitarist for live performance and studio session work.

The most beloved lead riffs in Unadorned’s arsenal are made possible by DAN’s pro-level guitar stylings.

STEVE ZEILMAN

Bass Guitar

At 16 years old, STEVE “borrowed” Dad’s acoustic guitar and shortly decided to head down to the local Mill’s Music and bought his own.  After a handful of guitar lessons at the shop, he found himself playing along to Nirvana’s “Unplugged In New York” recordings.  Years later (and at the urging of his then girlfriend), STEVE picked up his own acoustic and worked on recording a handful of YouTube video song collaborations.

In 2013, cover band “HIMs & HERs” came looking for a bassist, and as naturally as he picked up that old acoustic, he took to live performances with a touring band and then moved in to the world of studio sessions.

Unadorned has found its groove in STEVE.
